Posted in Cool SeriesWith the recession kicking in, many are tightening the belt on expenditure. I chanced upon Hanneng blog on “How To Access Straits Times Online For Free“. I thought this was a gem that was undiscover today. So apt at this period of time. I have always wanted to read Business Times to keep abreast of what’s happening around. (Afterall, I’m in business too! So it would definitely be useful to find out more and be aware of the environment but Business Times is a little more costly than it isn’t available at my coffeeshop downstairs!)
So when I know about such a way to read the papers FREE! I was totally excited.
I start my adventure to see if it works for me. I had 1 problem.
I forgot my log in name (which I guess was registered donkey years ago, anyway I resolved it within 5 minutes by calling the NLB helpline)
Here are 8 steps by steps ways to get your access! Before you begin, you must have a registered NLB Digital account else register here

3.Log into Digital Library (If you encounter any problems with this e-Service, please contact 63323255, or email Helpdesk@nlb.gov.sg)
4.Upon successful log in, click on eResources (as indicated by the red words’Click Here’)
5.Click on enewspapers
6. Inside enewspapers
7. Scroll down, click on No. 7 Newsbank
8. Wala! Choose Strait Times & Business Times
I was looking at what I post last year this time. Can’t believe it. There was nothing on Christmas instead… I posted on Lion City Marathon 2008! and on the eve of Christmas, I posted on the movie I am Legend. Now I remember I spent my Christmas eve catching movie!
As for this year, I got no plans as of now for Christmas eve. Perhaps my usual 11pm sleeping time and wake up real early on Christmas day to have a pasta meal! Long over are the countdown days in Orchard, squeezed in sardins and facing the threat of being molested by some of our foreign talents. ( There would be more this year since I read in the papers a huge batch are jobless and I would the most economical way is to join in the countdown without having to spend a penny to be in the Christmas atmosphere) .
