The Orphan Movie Review

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I watched the Orphan movie on VCD today.

It was totally not in my expectation when the synopsis said ‘there was something wrong with Ester’ My guess was she was possessed or perhaps some monster in disguise.

Never will I imagine a less than 10 years old kid swinging a hammer at a nun, it was disturbing!

Ester was the main character who was being adopted from the orphanage by the couple, Kate & John. She portrayed the character really well, so was her fine art in concealing her true identity,

I shall not spoil the fun here. To read the synopsis, please click here.

I quite like the suspense in this movie and would recommend anyone who is looking for some thrillers should definitely consider watching ‘ Orphan’ .

Please be forewarned this movie is not suitable for young children.

Ironman Movie – I like it!

Tuesday evening after my dinner @ Sakae Sushi @ West Mall, me and bear went to watch Ironman. I did not know what the movie was all about but since bear seemed to be talking about wanting to catch, I just followed.

I have this habit of falling asleep in movies. DUH I know, pay to sleep in cinemas? The environment in theatres made me sleepy sometimes, moreover after dinner. Food Coma.

I thought it was a Sci-Fic movie, eeeeek, totally not my cup of tea. I love to watch “blockblaster” (somewhat the word doesn’t seem right but you know what I mean, don’t you?) movies. Movies with a meaning. DUH DUH DUH, every movie has a meaning.

Anyway, I was expecting myself to sleep this time with no knowledge of what I am expecting.

I was wrong!

Ironman has a nice plot, easy to follow and I was totally blown away by the technology and the genius of that fellow. Tony! Starck Industry, the company manufacturing weapons.

Ironman has a meaning for me, “Everything is possible”

Totally amazing movie. 4 **** out of 5

You must watch it!

Death note – L Change the World movie activated my tear gland

I just came back from VivoCity, one of the largest shopping maze that I have yet to complete.

Went to Golden Village to catch Death Note. It was a unique experience due to the following:

  • It was a rare day where my bear initiated this movie trip.
  • It was my first time to Cinema 1 which was pretty huge, mainly for movie launches I guess.

I have this bad habit of falling asleep during movies haha perhaps to the reason that I am usually quite drained after work. Nevertheless, I did not know what to expect for this movie as I totally forgot what happened in the previous episodes. All I can recall is that Death God who loves eating apple.

This is yet another meaningful movie. I love movie where I can learn a lesson after watching.

It got so touching in the end when L was departing when he left the Math Genius little boy at the orphanage. I tear . . . Of all movies I watched, this is one of the rare ones which can activate my tear glands…

“No matter how gifted you are, you alone can’t change the world”

was the message he told the little boy who was super brilliant with numbers. He had a cute face too! haha…

Death Note – L Change the World : Highly Recommended!!! Saw the thriller here

i am legend – will smith

i was pinning high hopes on this movie ever since smith’s last movie that i caught – the pursuit of happyness.

i was really excited given the plot of new york being abandoned.

it was a short movie which didn’t really match up to my expectations. i was expecting more scenes of the diasters which struck nyc but instead it showed the period after the diaster.

however, i am truly impressed with smith’s preservence!

totally respectful of his spirit!

RATATOUILLE – Impossible Dream Possible?

“Ratatouille” is about a lovable rat – Remy – who constantly risks his life in an expensive French restaurant because of his love for good food, as well as a burning desire to become a gourmet chef. Obviously, this is rather far-fetched for a rat but opportunity knocks when a young boy, who desperately needs to keep his job at the restaurant despite not being able to cook to save his life, makes Remy a partner. The two of them learn to avoid the insane head chef, bring the rest of Remy’s family up to his culinary standards, win the boy a girlfriend, and of course, produce the finest ratatouille in all of France!
