Lessons Learnt

recently, i took up a project referred to me by my sis.

the “client” is my sis friend. i am impressed by her dare to do it attitude in achieving what she wants so i agreed to work on the project of hers for a nominal fee, peanuts compared to what the professionals are charging as my form of support and encouragement for her. i learnt many things from this project

1. Give the clients what they exactly want; what i think is good will never be good if it doesnt cater to the needs of the clients so I will ask and clarify SPECIFICALLY to what the clients want.

2. business will be solely business. I will not allow my personal emotions to over-rule the business.

3. clients don’t always follow rules. It’s my job that they keep to my terms and conditions by implementing probably consequences for not following.

4. Efforts tend to be taken for granted at times; I deliver what I promise but I don’t get what was agreed on by my clients.I must spell out the job scope and the extra complementary effort put in.

This is a good learning experience which will make me wiser and more careful when I take on more projects. Nevertheless,I’m happy that I’ve a great technical guru to work with on this project and also we are proud that the project was so successful that my client gets the first sign up before it was offically launched. I guess this speaks volume of the quality of our work as well as many behind the scene work that was done to have such impressive outcome.

also, when you type in “reliable tutors” in google, the site appears on the first page with 2 posts!

Cheers!
